Unless you’ve been living in a cave you have heard or seen pictures of the unfortunate earthquake that occurred in Hawaii on October 15. Although there were some power outages and a disruption in transportation systems, no serious injuries or deaths occurred.
No need to worry if you are planning a Hawaii vacation either. The media has carried some isolated pictures of damage in Hawaii, but much of the tourism industry went unaffected. According to the Hawaii visitors and convention bureau, Hawaii is welcoming visitors. They report that all of Hawaii’s hotels and resorts are open and operating. People flying into Hawaii are advised however to reconfirm flights due to the fact that some have been delayed because of the earthquake’s affect on the transportation system of the island.
Don’t let this minor incident keep you from the tropical paradise you’re going to encounter on your Hawaii vacation.
